MEET THE BAND
JIM CAROLLO
LEAD SINGER
Jim came out of the womb singing, most likely a Beatles song. His passion for music is what drives every performance. His philosophy as a frontman is all about putting smiles on faces and invoking a fun time for the audience. He also loves to leave the crowd with the “what’s he gonna do next” mentality. Nothing drives him more than seeing people get lost in the music that’s being performed.
He has many musical inspirations and influences that has shaped him as a frontman. Bands like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pearl Jam, Guns ‘n’ Roses and Pink Floyd. Vocalists such as Robert Plant, Ozzy, Eddie Vedder, Layne Staley and Scott Weiland are who have given him his voice.
Over the years he has performed many different styles of Rock n Roll such as Classic Rock, Blues Rock, Grunge, 80’s Glam & 90’s Alternative. Some of the bands he’s had the pleasure to work with are Speedball Zombie, Jam Hammered, Vinyl Drive, Evil Jim & The Culprits and Level 5 to name a few.
MIKE SHADLEY
LEAD GUITAR
Mike Shadley is a smokin' lead player.... Mike began his life of six-string depravity at the tender age of six. Like an addiction, Mike's predilection toward music was cultivated in the home, as the son of a serial musician. Watching his father play gig after gig inevitably led him down the path to string-slinging iniquity.
Mike sharpened his talons playing music from Molly Hatchet, Lynyrd Skynyrd, .38 Special, Ted Nugent and a host of others. He has been searing the Chicago circuit for over twenty years, sharing his axe with Whitehorse, Ruckus, All Access, Savage Wilderness, Riders on the Storm, Hit List, Rockaholics as well as playing in the studio.
Well-groomed and nasty, Mike is an international man of guitar-mystery; intriguing, intense and eager to please.
JEFF HANSEL
BASS GUITAR
Jeff comes to Full Volume with over 45 years of playing bass. He has been rippin up the Chicago scene for most of that time playing Jazz, Classical, Blues, R&B, Southern Rock, and Big Band with various local and midwestern artist. Jeff holds a music degree in Jazz bass performance. He has studied with prominent classical and jazz bassist. Jeff has performed with orchestras and groups large and small. He has also spent time "on-the-road". In the 1990's he wrote "Great American Country" that was recorded and made the Billboard independent charts: he is also on many recordings. In his free time Jeff teaches bass, guitar, and piano. Jeff can be seen in the motion picture "My Best Friend's Wedding" and several sitcoms.
PAUL ESPOSITO
RYTHYM GUITAR
Paul began playing guitar at the age of eleven, guided by remarkable teachers and mentors who helped shape him into the musician he is today. He grew up inspired by guitar legends such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Gary Moore, Angus Young, and Tony Iommi. With a deep passion for music from a young age, he has dedicated years to honing his craft, preparing him for larger stages.
Paul's playing is characterized by strong timing and a solid understanding of chord progressions, which provide a strong foundation for his songs. His rhythmic precision elevates both lively strumming in rock music and subtle fingerpicking in ballads, showcasing his versatility as a guitarist.
Throughout his career, Paul has collaborated with various artists across genres like rock, blues, and country. His dedication to his craft and love for music make him an inspiring figure within the music community.
DOM "THE MACHINE" ESPOSITO
DRUMS
Dom Esposito is an experienced drummer with a diverse musical background that encompasses rock, jazz, blues, and funk. He began playing at a young age and developed a natural talent for rhythm, drawing inspiration from drumming legends such as Tommy Aldridge, Peter Criss, and Bill Ward.
In 2022, he joined the band “Southern Rival,” which is now known as Full Volume, initially as a fill-in drummer. The rest is history.
As the "heartbeat" of Full Volume, Dom is recognized for his precise timing and creative flair. His energetic drumming and aggressive beats are truly unique.
In addition to performing, Dom is passionate about music and is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of drummers.
